ps i love you, still

it was just about 3 years ago that lou and i took our first trip out to the desert to stay at the newly opened ace hotel. we fell head over heels with the mountains, the sunshine, the quiet, the mojitos, the architecture. and now it’s a place we run to when we need a breath.  i’m wishing i could teletransport myself there today, this cold weather has me craving some sunshine. palm springs, i love you. and next time we sneak off for a desert vacation we are going to stay here, it looks amazing!!

guy style

i met this fellow at the movie colony hotel in palm springs when i was there for a wedding for birds of a feather. isn’t he adorable? i love his worn in boat shoes and glasses. might have to find a way to make a girl version of this look for spring.  i have some skinny navy pants and a few tee shirts that would be perfect…now to find the boat shoes.  do you ever steal style from guys?  i’m into it.

this post was brought to you by the jcrew end-of-summer sale

i packed clothes for 80 degree + weather (and nothing else) for our trip to palm springs. so obviously, it rained! which meant that we had to make a little shopping trip to the jcrew store for something warm for me to wear, and lucky for me it was their end of summer sale! i found some great deals and a few warm things to throw on in the desert. of course, as soon as i bought said warm clothes it immediately started getting hot again. but this outfit was the perfect combo for a cool evening in the desert. shorts, sweater, vest, flops, bracelet: jcrew, watch: marc by marc jacobs via bloomindales, ring: kate spade, photos by lou mora

world’s biggest dinosaurs!

we’ve driven past these gigantic dinos a bazillion times on our drive out to the desert, and this day we finally stopped!  such a great touristy thing to do, to take photos of yourselves with the world’s biggest dinosaurs. now i want to be a t-rex for halloween, but can’t get my head around how i’ll whip up that fantastic little costume.  ideas my friends?
