Happy Friday everyone!  How amazing is this Sydney casa?  Australia, you all are killing it in the home department!  Can’t wait for one of you inspiring families to decide you need to add a little bit of saucy American into your life and adopt us!  I can cook, Lou is excellent at keeping things tidy and Bean + Nugget- well they’d just be there for undying love and affection.  We don’t require much, a small corner of one of you incredible light filled homes would be plenty.   But enough adoption please, let’s go back to talking about this house!  It’s crazy good, right?  There’s so much more after the jump, you don’t want to miss it.  Have a great weekend everyone!!  xx- Sarah  {images via}

INSPIRING SPACES

Happy Friday everyone!  I am full on in the throes of decorating so houses and design is pretty much all I can think about.  Which, for a gal like myself, is just pure FUN!  So today I wanted to share a little home inspiration from down under.  I don’t know if I’m more obsessed with koala bears, Australia in it’s entirety or this house.  All three are pretty much so loaded with awesomeness that I can hardly stand myself.  Can a family in Australia adopt us please?  We’ll cook for you and take photos of your dogs like no other, I promise!  See more of this amazing space after the jump and have an incredible weekend my friends!  xx- Sarah (images via)

HOUSE UPDATE: THE LIVING ROOM

I have a crazy announcement, one that I’ve shared on Instagram through sneak peeks but kept mum about on here until I had some pretty photos to share.  I think I’ve also been nervous to make it Official OFFICIAL, you know?   Drumrolll….We’re moving back to the coast to be full time San Diego residents!  We’ve been going back and forth about what to do for months, after realizing that no matter how hard we try, the desert just isn’t for us. We knew that it was a possibility when we bought the house, that we would move to a town we’d never lived in and decide that it wasn’t the right fit, but we of course had hopes that it would be.

We won’t be moving into a dream home in San Diego, we’ll likely be renting a two bedroom apartment or duplex. It will be a dramatic change from this luxury living but we’re looking forward to the adventure! As for this sweet home, we’ve got HUGE plans!  We’re turning our dream home into a vacation rental!!  We just can’t let it go, it’s such an incredible space and we know that we can make it an ideal spot for out of town visitors to get away to. I’ve had my hands full shifting my design ideas to accomodate the new plan!  More details (including sources), lots of photos, and a sneak peek of the dining room progress after the jump!  xx- Sarah

INSPIRING SPACES

I’m sure I’ve pinned images from this house tour, but I had never clicked through to see the entire tour before today.  And oh my wow, I love it!  So simple and beautiful.  And I am totally going to steal the idea of the giant succulents in vases, oh yes I am!  Lou and I are wrapping up the finishing touches on our home and I’m itching to share the final results!  It seems like it takes a lifetime for the last bits and bobs to come together, doesn’t it? TABLETOP STYLING WITH HOSTESS HAVEN

I LOVE everything about entertaining, from start to finish.  Meal planning, setting the table, choosing the right music- it’s all so much fun!  And of course the best part is that moment where I’m surrounded by loved ones at the table, everyone is laughing and enjoying themselves and I take a pause to sit back and soak it all in.  That is the best feeling!  I’m a believer that at a dinner party things don’t have to be fancy to be great, but it does add an extra bit of fun when they are!  We didn’t have a registry when we got married and I’d never taken the time to fully put together a table set, so I recently enlisted the help of my dear friend / table styling genius Farra Miron of Hostess Haven to consult and and help me find the perfect tableware for all occasions! I admit, my taste are all over the place- I love things rustic, glam, vintage and modern.  So when Farra was helping me with the table she put together the perfect mix of all and even incorporated a bunch of what we already had!  The Heath Ceramics plates that we got at the factory store last Fall were the starting point, those are going to be our dishes for life, I love them so much.  This table is my dream celebration table- what I would love to have for special occasions or anytime I felt like glamming it up a bit.  It would be perfect for a girls brunch and at night the sparkle of all the gold would make it so festive and beautiful!
