this is where most of my jewelry is kept, and it looks like a bomb exploded 95% of the time (it also gives you an idea of what my closet was like prior to this). i really need a solution, but i feel like anything that tucks everything away too neatly won’t do. with me and accessories, out of sight = out of mind. any suggestions friends? how do you keep your jewelry organized and accessible?
making good use of daylight savings
yesterday with that amazing extra hour * i did the unthinkable. i organized my closet! it took me half the day, but it was a project so worth the time and effort. i purged old clothes that aren’t doing it for me anymore, making a big heaping pile to haul to crossroads. i added places to hang belts, hats and sunnies (YAY!). i approached it like i would styling for a boutique. i kept the product fairly minimal, but utilized all the space. now i feel like i can really see what i have and play around with things that were previously buried. i wish i had taken a before picture but i don’t know if i’m ballsy enough to post it even if i had- it was pretty embarassing. organization is not my strong suit. next up, the shoe and coat closet {projected date of project, daylight savings 2013}. and if you don’t have them already, these hangers are a MUST! *i reserve my right to complain about said hour come spring ahead.
new hallway rugs!
we found these rugs at tesoros trading company in austin and knew straight away they’d be perfect for our hallway! i’m so in love with navajo patterns. these rugs are colorful, bold, and transformed the long hallway between our living room and bedroom/offices. now if we would just center them, we’d be good to go! *it should be noted that we have a big ol’ runner in our garage that we bought at the rose bowl flea market, only to come home and realize it was 2″ too wide. these navajo rugs make that rose bowl rug sting just a little bit less.
the chalkboard wall that wasn’t
you know how when you’re *almost* done with a room but there’s the one lingering issue still to be solved that keeps you from feeling like it’s complete? meet our dining room. it’s driving me bananas! i don’t know what to do on this chalkboard wall behind our dining room table. we could draw on it- but we’re horrible with chalk. we feel like hanging something there would be weird because of the chandelier. we need help! sos!
