happy new year, love mrs. sarah yates-mora

if we’ve been out of touch since before christmas, you won’t know about the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me! on december 28th, my lou and i got married!!! i can’t wait to share all the details, but for now here is a peek at my amazing bouquet {peonies, rununculas, and gold fringe OH MY!}. the best part about it- it was made with all the love in the world from my girl kelly at bash, please.  i’ll share more about our wedding day another time, for now we’re just basking in the glow of being newlyweds! {as it turns out, it truly is magical} wishing all of you the happiest of new years!!!  see you in 2012!

merry merry and see you next year!

i think it’s so important that we all take time away from computers, email, and social media every once in a bit. our minds are overwhelmed, over stimulated, and overworked! so with that said, i hope you are all having the most wonderful holiday season with lots of treats, rest, love and happiness. i will see you in january and will be happily rehashing the end of our month, reflecting on 2011 and getting excited for 2012, i’m positive it’s going to be a great one! {all photos above from my instragram…if you’d like to keep up with eachother there as well, my instragram name is sarahyates!} merry merry, wishing you all the best!

holiday party finale!

i did it! i hosted my first adult party (non-roommate-hosted). which might not seem like a big deal to you, but to this obsessive compulsive over the top control freak, it was HUGE. and so fantastic! the most important thing i learned about hosting: ask for help, or accept when it’s offered! my friends saved my party-life.

heirloom la gifted their lasagna cupcakes (omg, SO delicious!!!), margaux came over early to help cook and brought the tastiest home-made peanut butter cups, annie made these yummy almond joys, and paige & kelly brought over dishes, cookies, and a golden unicorn to mix in with my crafty tree forest.

without all of their help i would have been too stressed out all day to enjoy a second of it! i wish i had taken more photos, but i was having too much fun drinking wine and chatting with all my girlfriends. oh well, next time!  here’s to the holidays! i hope you all are having so much fun!

felt ball wreath

last winter i saw this amazing felt ball wreath and was totally overcome with envy. so this year i busted out my hot glue gun and made my own! lou thought i was a bit crazy, (and it’s possible he’s right) but i loved every second of making this. doing anything creative with my hands that requires a little focus puts my mind at ease and calms down that inner chatter. and it’s the perfect colorful addition to our doorway, i’m so in love with it that i don’t know if i’ll be able to tuck it away after the holidays! do you think it works as every-day decor or is it better as a holiday treat? * buy your own wreath, or the balls to make one here
