I’m on the fence about whether this dish looks as good as it tastes, or even if it looks good at all. In person, it’s beautiful, delicious and satisfying. In photos, I’m not so sure. That happens to me sometimes when I’ve been looking at something too much, I start to question whether it’s good or awful! But I suppose whether a dish is photographic or not is irrelevant if it’s TASTY! And this is. Also, crazy easy to whip up. And hearty, warm, and so good for these cold days! Hope you love! xx- Sarah
Roasted Fall Vegetable Stew from At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen
Ok, so clear your calendars for Sunday because you’ve got plans! Specifically, a date with this roasted fall vegetable with cannellini bean stew that is just BEYOND. I mean seriously. You’re going to want to make this and then snuggle up with a cozy blanket, a good book and a hefty bowl of this goodness. Just do it, you’ll thank me. And after you have you should probably order Amy Chaplin’s cookbook At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well. It’s the source of this recipe and is sure to become your new kitchen bible. Amy’s background is amazing and her food is just… well, it’s glorious. This stew, oh man. SO GOOD. I know it’s a bit more work than the recipes I usually post but I promise it’s so, so worth it. Enjoy! xx- Sarah
Holiday Table 2014
I’ve been imagining this table in my mind for so many months now that I could just pinch myself that I’ve finally gathered everything to bring my imagination to life! Putting together table design for the holidays is at the top of my Fun List! And for months I imagined black and walnut and copper coming together with Eucalyptus and pomegranate to make a romantic, festive, dream of a table. I’ve been posting teasers on my Instagram like my life depends on it (it definitely does not). Without further ado, more photos and a full list of sources! I hope it provides some inspiration for your own holiday table!! xx- Sarah ps- a lot of this table is from West Elm, and a lot of it is ON SALE!!!!

Arugula, Fig and Fried White Sweet Potato Salad
Our fig tree is going bonkers right now and I’ve been harvesting figs like it’s my job! And finding different ways to eat them like it’s my full-time hobby. That’s how this tasty salad was born! It’s the exactly the kind of salad I’d serve to friends at a dinner party- each plate carefully crafted and beautiful. I’d pair it with white wine, this soup, a crusty loaf of french bread, and some mellow music playing in the background. When we have friends over for dinner it’s my favorite thing in the world to knock their socks off with a delicious meal so I don’t mind a little extra effort than I would spend on a normal meal for Lou and I. AND: fried white sweet potatoes, so there’s that! Anyway, I hope you enjoy! xx- Sarah
Veggie Sliders and PACT Cranberry Water
One of the most important parts of staying healthy, for me, is hydration. I drink water like I’m in the Sahara- every day! So when Ocean Spray® introduced me to their PACt™ cranberry extract water I was excited for a new way to mix up my hydration game. Using the powerful nutrients found in cranberries, PACt cleanses and purifies the body better than water alone. And to celebrate the launch of PACt, Ocean Spray and Maria Menounos are hosting a beach bash on Thursday October 23rd in Hermosa Beach- complete with yoga, pilates, barre and various other complimentary fitness classes. Fun, right?! Register here to reserve your spot! And when you’re done working up a sweat on the beach, may I suggest these veggie sliders? They’re healthy, tasty and a perfect treat after a hard workout. Here’s to making as many healthy choices as we can! xx- Sarah This post was produced in collaboration with Ocean Spray. Steel-Cut Oats and Cinnamon Stewed Fruit
This breakfast was inspired by one we had at our friends Farra and Juan’s house one morning that I’ve been making regularly ever since- it’s the most hearty, delicious, warming breakfast that’s perfect for these cool days of Fall! It started my love affair with steel-cut oats, prior to which I’d been kind of meh about and reaffirmed my love of figs, apples and cinnamon. Oh me oh my, it’s a good one! And if you run short on time in the mornings, you can make this over the weekend and heat up the leftovers in the mornings during the week! And you can mix it up with such a huge variety of toppings – I included a list for inspiration in the recipe. Ok, have at it my friends!! xx- Sarah
