MANGO TURMERIC SMOOTHIE

Happy Monday everyone!  I have a confession to make:  We’re living off of smoothies and Chipotle burrito bowls.  It’s true.  That’s what survival mode looks like in this house.  And I’m not complaining, it was a pretty indulgent weekend for us.  I’ll write more another day soon, will share an update on Carlos and our lives.  But for today, I hope you enjoy this- my perfect summertime smoothie!  xx- Sarah

This is perfect! Ever since I started to eat healthier, I have been having a hard time consuming enough food to keep my energy levels up during my workouts. My yoga teacher suggested bananas and mangos, many many a day. I’ve been collecting all the recipes I can get my hands on that include both of those fruits because I don’t want to get sick of them too quickly!

    Thank you, thank you!

Hi Sarah, I have been thinking about you, your husband and Carlos many times this past week. Sending you wishes for peace during this difficult time. The pictures you posted of Carlos are full of dignity and love. He looks so very comfortable. I admire all of you so much. Love and hugs.

Funny that you would post a frozen drink. I was contemplating emailing you to volunteer my unique smoothie recipes as a contributor, (but I’m right in the middle of trying to get my blog off the ground so maybe we’ll connect in the future) anyway, it makes me happy to see that you’re indulging in some sweet frozen fruity treats! I had a quick question too: You’re one of the few bloggers that don’t use a spam blocking tool for commenting (I don’t right now either) do you get an insane amount of spam comments a day? I feel like it’s 7:3 spam to real peeps commenting on our blog, but I’m reluctant to use a plug-in that makes you type in funky looking numbers because I dislike them myself. Any advice?

Try adding coconut water instead of regular water! It won’t affect flavor drastically, but it will alter consistency and offer you great nutritional benefits!

I’ve been really into smoothies lately because I’m trying to lose weight and want to get the nutrition from ingredients like soy milk, hemp seeds, & fruit. I’ve been thinking of ways to add turmeric to my diet every day, so this is a great idea. Thank you!

I’m curious what flavor profile that turmeric will have with mango? I’ve had it before in Indian dishes but never by itself, how would you best describe it’s flavor in this smoothie.? Ps I hope all is well with your family, check out an older podcast from this American life to hear how a daughter dealt with hospice and end of life care. Cheers and well wishes.
