hi everyone! today is lou’s birthday and we’ll be celebrating from now until monday! we have friends coming into town that we haven’t seen in far too long and enough tecate to fuel a mid size liberal arts college. yes, it’s going to be one of those weekends and i couldn’t be happier about it! i’ll be back tomorrow with just a bit more to get us through the weekend, and then i’ll be off celebrating with everything i’ve got! and the photo is just a sneak peek of a style post coming up featuring this caftan and this mara hoffman bikini. (photo by lou) more soon! xx- sarah
green beans are coming into season and i couldn’t be happier! this salad is surprisingly hearty and i’m pretty sure i ate about 3 lbs of it in a sitting. SO GOOD! the toasted almonds give it this smoky flavor and the mustard vinigriette gives it a little kick. i think you’ll be surprised by how delish it is. green beans, i celebrate you. hope you love! xx- sarah
so, it turns out MUSTARD DOESN’T GROW IN JARS! who knew?! i kid, i kid. kind of. because although mustard has been a favorite of mine for as long as i can remember, i had zero idea where it came from. a store shelf…..i knew that much, but nothing beyond. until recently. i was reading the ingredients on the mustards trying to choose the one with the least crazy sounding stuff and make sure no one was getting sneaky and putting sugar in my mustard. and in reading these labels i realized – mustard is made of like 2-3 things. and i thought, I CAN MAKE MY OWN! which is exciting for a girl who had previously never pondered the origins of one of her favorite condiments. and so, five minutes after reading a bit about mustard on wikipedia i was off to the races on my first batch. i think it turned out pretty damn good (after a few days of sitting, which settles some of the spiciness). will you try it? it’s SO easy! xx- sarah {more after the jump}
and my love affair with clothes that feel like pajamas continues with these pants from asos. they come in two colors. it’s taking EVERYTHING IN ME to not order them in the dusty pink as well. which is ridiculous because they’re on sale for $41 and i’ve already worn this pair twice since i got them a week ago. and they look just as adorable dressed down with flats, so there’s also that. but still, two pairs of the exact same pants? GAH!!! i need a support group for people who buy their clothes and shoes in doubles!!!
if you’re as in love with looking at homes and spaces as i am you have to check out california homes, produced by the incredibly talented architect william hefner. the book is chock full of inspiring luxury residences, and who doesn’t like to spend a little time fantasizing over amazing homes? i’ve posted some of my favorites from one of the houses above. are you not dying over this house?! it’s bananas. i need to move in with those lucky homeowners. me, bean, nugget and lou. i’m sure they won’t mind. ok, that’s all for now… be back later with my friday links! xx- sarah
hiya friends, happy friday! your comments on my survey were amazing, so i did what i could to give what you asked for. which was essentially more of everything! what do you think? did you like the abundance of posts this week? or is one a day a better speed, or maybe somewhere in between? bear with me while i figure it out! and have an amazing weekend! xx- sarah {more after the jump}
this adorableness. i mean, what more could you want? well, maybe this.
our sweet friends max and marguax shared their new nursery, and it’s so adorable!
