SARAH THE FRIENDLY GHOST

This amazing Tibi skirt begs for a twirl and this crop top begs the question IS IT APPROPRIATE TO SHOW YOUR BELLY WHEN YOUR SKIN IS THE COLOR OF FRESHLY FALLEN SNOW?  A funny little story for you… as Lou and I were walking out the door for this style shoot he said to me “Are you wearing pantyhose?!”  No Lou, not since 1997, but thanks so much for asking.  Shortly thereafter I realized he meant tights.  WHITE TIGHTS.  He actually didn’t believe me when I told him No.  Repeatedly, No.  He was so dubious of my denials that he actually PINCHED AT MY LEGS TO PROVE I WAS WEARING PANTYHOSE TIGHTS!  OH!  The shame!!!  I had to bump up the saturation in these photos lest you think I was an apparition.  My friends, I guess it’s time I get some sun.  BOO!  xx- Sarah

LIGHTING DECISIONS

Our new dining table should be arriving ANY DAY NOW!  You should be able to gauge my level of excitement by the use of caps, but if you can’t I’ll tell you this:  I’M REALLY FREAKING EXCITED!  I’ve dreamt of this table for more years than I care to admit (it ages me).  I can’t wait to share it with you!!  I’m also on the hunt for a light to hang above it.  So I figured I’d pull together a few I’m interested in, just in case you too are on the hunt (or would like to squirrel this away on Pinterest for future reference).  I’ve also tried to find a few different price points.  But let’s be honest, I’ve got champagne taste.  Good champagne.  Expensive, good champagne- the kind where you don’t waste EVEN ONE DROP.  And there’s no going back.  So you’ve been warned, only one of those lights would be budget friendly.  Now tell me, if you will, which is your favorite?!  xx- Sarah  1 // 2 // 3 // 4 //

IT’S BLACK AND WHITE

I broke down and bought the boots I’ve been stalking for who knows how long.  And I’m so, SO glad I did! Confession: I even cleaned out my shoes closet to give them a proper welcome to the family.  Not weird at all.   You’re probably going to see a lot of everything in this post, I’m sure I’m going to be mixing and matching up the wazzoo with all of these pieces, they’re so versatile.  Until tomorrow!  xx- Sarah

STUFFED KABOCHA SQUASH

It’s the season for hearty vegetable dishes AND pomegranates!!  So this weekend when I combined the two I was pretty much the happiest creature alive.  If I were a cat I’d have been purring loud enough for the neighbors to hear!  I won’t go on and on about how tasty and easy this dish is, even though I could.  For days.  Happy Monday friends!  xx- Sarah  {more after the jump}

TRAVEL INSPIRATION FEATURING HELENE CORNELL

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I’m so excited to introduce you to Helene Cornell, owner of Urban Holiday Rentals. She’s a San Diego based entrepreneur who was recently featured on American Express’ Passion Project (see video below), and is an inspiration to all of us who are working to make our dream life a reality!  Helene renovates Airstream and canned ham trailers, turning them into fun and quirky vacation rentals.  But while chatting with Helene about her work life the thing I found MOST impressive was her dedication to providing a completely unique travel experience to her guests.  Upon request Helene will cook breakfast, happily provide all the San Diego travel recs needed and for guests that are interested, even take them on what she calls the “San Diego underground tour”.  I’m a firm believer that there’s NOTHING better than a local to give you the inside scoop when you travel, so to me, what Helene provides her guests is worth all the vacation dollars in the world.  Click through to see more of Helene’s trailer and read her suggestions for the BEST OF San Diego, it’s a serious list of must-do’s for anyone visiting! {more after the jump}

OPERATION GET COZY

At the end of next week Lou and I are headed up north to stay at a cabin on the lake for a few days with some of our favorite friends.  We can’t wait to do nothing, eat yummy things, get cozy, sleep in and just completely decompress.  In the meantime I’m fantasizing about cozy winter wear, and especially the things above!  Ok, and a few of the things below.  Happy Wednesday friends!  xx- Sarah
