Happy Friday my friends! This week has flown by, which I’m totally ok with because THANKSGIVING!!!!! We are officially less than two weeks out! Wouldn’t that soup above be the perfect first course? Yes! Yes, it would. It’s time to start menu planning, if you haven’t already! Or do you have a routine for Thanksgiving? Family dishes that you cook every time? I go back and forth. Sometimes I want just the old classics, sometimes I love mixing in some new recipes with old favorites. But always, always, lots of stuffing. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Links below for your weekend, have a great one!! xx- Sarah {image via}
Style Round Up – The Trench
I absolutely love the trench- it’s just such a classic, versatile look! Dressed up, dressed down, dressed any which way you please it’s always a YES for me. Are these gals all not looking so gorgeous? I just adore! And don’t you think they’ll be in style from now until forever? A closet must-have in my opinion. Shop for your own perfect trench below if you please! xx- Sarah {via 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 }
Roasted Fall Vegetable Stew from At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen
Ok, so clear your calendars for Sunday because you’ve got plans! Specifically, a date with this roasted fall vegetable with cannellini bean stew that is just BEYOND. I mean seriously. You’re going to want to make this and then snuggle up with a cozy blanket, a good book and a hefty bowl of this goodness. Just do it, you’ll thank me. And after you have you should probably order Amy Chaplin’s cookbook At Home in the Whole Food Kitchen: Celebrating the Art of Eating Well. It’s the source of this recipe and is sure to become your new kitchen bible. Amy’s background is amazing and her food is just… well, it’s glorious. This stew, oh man. SO GOOD. I know it’s a bit more work than the recipes I usually post but I promise it’s so, so worth it. Enjoy! xx- Sarah
Sparkling Cider
Is it too soon for super festive cocktail posts? I THINK NOT! Especially because TODAY I HEARD CHRISTMAS MUSIC ON THE RADIO!!!!! I’m ready to hit the couch, watch Elf and drink sparkling cider until I’m just a little bit giddy with the holiday spirit. Ok let’s be honest, I’m already a little giddy with the holiday spirit- these would just give me an excuse! Delicious, festive, pretty and the perfect sipper for the holiday season. Have at them my friends! xx- Sarah {this post was produced in collaboration with Sarah Dickenson}
Inspiring Spaces
Happy Monday! Or, the day that ruined my weekend, as I like to call it. Ha! I’m currently trying to figure out how to swing a four day work week. Anyone have ideas? Couldn’t we all just collectively agree that Monday is a weekend day? Or maybe change needs to come from the top, maybe it’s a political matter. Banish daylight savings and turn Monday into a weekend day! These are the things I will do for you if you elect me President in 2016!!! Until that happens I suppose I’ll continue my relatively peaceful protest of both daylight savings and Monday right here on A House in the Hills. And I’ll serve up some pretty home inspiration to try to cheer us all up. Onward my friends! xx- Sarah {via: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 }
A House in the Hills X Cotton
Happy Saturday everyone! I’m currently in Miami for Cotton’s 24 Hour Runway Show that started last night at 8 pm (you can watch it streaming here) And to celebrate the occasion they asked me to create mood boards and bring the first date inspiration to life here! Since I was always a fan of more casual, day-time first dates I went for black skinny jeans, a blouse and my favorite cotton trench. Casual, comfortable and effortless, this would be my perfect outfit to meet for a brunch cocktail or wander around a museum. Hope you love! Have a great weekend! xx- Sarah
