Friday Roundup

hi everyone.  i had most of this post prepped last night with all of my weekly links and only this paragraph to write this morning.  and as most of the country is, i’m glued to the tv watching unimaginable news about the bombers/boston.  my heart and thoughts are with you boston.  i’m focusing on the heroes, the generosity, the resilience.  there is evil, but there is far, far more goodness, beauty, and love.  and the evil will never be able to take that away.  sending you all so much love.  may you and yours be safe.   xx- sarah {more after the jump}

my fellow travel and photography lovers, spend some time here- it’s a feast for your eyes!

white and neon

i don’t know how i feel about getting matchy matchy with my shoes and my bag.  but these too just went together like peanut butter and chocolate, so i couldn’t help myself.  and according to in style circa september 2011 it’s a very queen elizabeth thing to do (what?!).  i’ve had my share of british royalty fantasies so i guess i’ll go with it for now.  so what do you think?  do you match your shoes/bag or prefer to mix it up? {more after the jump}

shopbop friends and family sale

when shopbop has their sales, i can’t deny it- i’m like a kid in a candy store after eating ten tons of sugar.  i get so excited!  i love a good deal but i also love high quality clothing- i’d rather spend more and have items that will last and not get tossed after a few trips through the washing machine (don’t you hate that?!).  so now is the time to stock up on some staples- 20% off PLUS whatever they were already reduced means that some things are as much as 50-70% off!  here are some things that made it into my shopping cart, and some things i only wish did…happy shopping!

aileen and kevin’s house

my friend and go-to designer aileen (responsible for the birds of a feather website and a house in the hill’s logo and blog design) just shared her home on design sponge.  and it’s so cute that i have to share!  aileen and her husband kevin were buying their home around the same time that we were, so as we were going through the process we traded war stories about dealing with the banks and then eventually moved into our new homes around the same time as well.  i’m kind of blown away with how much they’ve done to get settled in their place already!  i love how light, modern and clean it is.  it’s so perfectly suited to their style.  hope you love as much as i do!  {more after the jump}

head on over to design sponge to see more of their fab home!

the little black {and white striped} dress

this is one thing i think every lady should have in her closet- a black and white striped dress.  i wear mine constantly!  you might remember it from here (yes, i rolled it under to make it shorter and dressed it up a little with heels).  but i’ve also worn it a bunch with black booties and my levis vest.  it’s so easily dressed up or down, i love it even more for it’s versatility.  and can we talk about this clare vivier oversized clutch for a minute?  i want to live in it.  totally obsessed.  {more after the jump}
