SAN FRANCISCO AND SOME EXCITING NEWS!

Hi friends!  Thanks so much for the SF restaurant recs!  I love this city so much.  Everytime I visit I swear it’s my favorite city on the west coast.  It’s definitely got a special place in my heart.  Or maybe it’s my stomach- the food is SO GOOD!!!

Now I want to chat with you about some changes happening around here.  You may have noticed a few ads have popped up on the site.  I’m super excited to let you all know that I’ve signed on with Federated Media! They’re connecting me with advertisers and brands who are interested in finding unique ways to get in front of you!  What this means is that I’ll occasionally be doing “sponsored posts” and mixing things up a bit on behalf of the brands who support this blog.

Here’s my promise to you:  I will always keep YOU, my readers, at the forefront of my thoughts when agreeing to create content on behalf of a brand.  And I will always let you know when a brand has sponsored a post, even if it blends seamlessly in with the regular content.  No funny business here, I promise. This blog started as a personal creative outlet and has grown to be something I’m so incredibly proud of.  It’s also grown to be a full-time venture, which is AMAZING!  As such, finding ways to also make it a profitable full-time venture has become part of my job.  I truly hope you’ll support me and the brands who support A House in the Hills going forward.  You all have meant the world to me over the past couple of years and I am 100% dedicated to keeping this a fun, inspiring and authentic place for you to spend time.  And I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for stopping by and joining me in this crazy adventure! All my heart. xx- Sarah

FLORAL MINI DRESS

Sometimes the best thing to do when you’ve got a super-girly mini dress is to drag out all of the accessories you have that make you feel even the slightest bit badass and pile ‘em on.  Anyone with me on this?  I know at least one of you is.

Now, in completely unrelated news, Lou and I are on our way to San Francisco today!  So I’ll be blogging, facebooking and instagramming from the road.  Anyone have any restaurant recs for SF that I shouldn’t miss? Happy Tuesday friends! More after the jump…. xx- Sarah

ROMPER STYLE, A LAZY GALS FRIEND

I hope rompers never go out of style because if they do I’ll surely be the lady still rocking them that the teenage girls whisper about (awkward!).  They have all the ease of a dress- one piece to throw on, with the added benefit of NOT being a dress, and therefore requiring even less thought.  Lazy fashion my friends, I dig it now and forever.  And this particular romper has been on my wish list for months now, it’s coral-y goodness and flower pattern make it the perfect piece for summer.  Happy romping friends!   xx- Sarah  {more after the jump}

JOIE PANTS AND ALICE + OLIVIA STRIPED SHOE DREAMS

A girl can spend years, decades even, looking for her shoe soul mate, right?  I think I may have found mine. These striped beauties from Alice + Olivia are everything that I could want in a shoe- the perfect heel height, graphic stripes, pointy toes- I just LOVE them!  I decided for their debut look I’d pair them with an equally graphic outfit- black, white, leopard and a pop of red on my lips.  Classic, in my opinion, and a perfect start to wearing these shoes into the ground.  xx- Sarah {more after the jump}

VACATION STYLE: BIG BEAR LAKE EDITION

I had this vision of an epic photo of Bean and I, mother and daughter, smiling at the camera with the lake and sunset behind us.  But apparently, Bean had her own ideas.  And standing with her back to the lake WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN {MOM!}. And we were losing light fast.  So instead, I have these.  Great reminders that Bean has a mind and will of her own, and that I should always, ALWAYS carry treats.
