CHAMBRAY AND CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN

Christmas came a little early this year with some new bags from one of my favorites, Clare Vivier! And this bag was a fast favorite.  It works perfectly with my black and white obsession!  So, CHRISTMAS!!  Two sleeps my friends, two sleeps! I am crazy excited!  I’ve got posts lined up for your holiday entertainment but I’ll be taking the rest of the week off with plans to rest, bake until I’ve exhausted ideas, spend lots of time cuddling my family and celebrate up storm with friends who are coming into town.  I CANNOT WAIT!!!  Wishing you all the very merriest this year!  xx- Sarah {more after the jump}

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS

Only six days until Christmas!  How are my fellow procrastinators doing?  Lou and I continue to be ridiculously excited.  I’m going to need to be sedated on Christmas Eve this year.  Which is totally normal for a woman in her 30’s.  And this is way random but you guys, last night I bowled a 122!  We bowl maybe twice a year, and I never manage to break a hundred, so you can imagine me strutting around like a peacock after that.  Luckily I was humbled by an accidental back-toss (you know, when the ball is too heavy and you lose control of it on the back swing and send it flying back towards your competitors friends).  Embarassing.  I suppose I should hold off on ordering my own ball and shoes.  For now.  Happy Thursday friends!  xx- Sarah

HOLIDAY PARTY-WEAR

Two things are in-your-face obvious right now.  The first:  The holiday season should extend through the second week of January.  By the time I’ve hit my festive stride it’s time to pack up all the glitter and call it done for the year.  That’s unacceptable!  I want to celebrate until mid-January.  I call for a cease and desist on work for the first two weeks on the year!  Who’s with me?!  Now for the second thing: I really need a bang trim.  I’m living in a perpetual state of hair in my eyeballs.  I feel like a shetland pony.  And, while we’re on the subject (hair, not ponies), I am getting that itch to do something different to the mop, to mix it up a bit.  I just gave it a trim, but I’m thinking maybe a full on chop is in order.  Or some coloring?  Something!  Thoughts?  Help a shetland pony out!  xx- Sarah  {more after the jump}

NEW YEAR’S PARTY FROCKS

We’re just weeks away from New Year’s Eve!  I’m normally not a huge fan, but I had a lot of fun last year and this year we have favorite friends coming into town to celebrate with us.  So maybe I’m going to start loving it? We shall see!  But I do know I love that it’s the BEST excuse to wear a party dress.  You can never be too flashy, too fun, or too sparkly on NYE!  I’ve rounded up some party frocks, above and below, that are in the running to help me ring in the new year.  2014 should definitely start with a dress that makes a girl feel like a million bucks!  xx- Sarah

BLACK AND TAN

Hey friends, how was your weekend?  Ours involved lots of lounging, a little work, a bit of this and a lot of that. But most importantly, our Christmas tree went up!  Have I mentioned that I’m completely spastic about the holiday season?  Lou and I already have a dozen presents under the tree and about 10 times a day we speculate on what’s in them and ask each other if we should open “just one”.  GAH!!!!  I LOVE IT!!!  Honestly each box could have one roll of washi tape and I’d still be this excited.  The anticipation is the best part, and we’ve learned to really milk it.  You know I won’t be able to sleep on Christmas eve and will have Lou up before the sun to open our stockings!  I CANNOT WAIT!!  Two weeks!   And if, like me, you’re still in the throes of shopping, I’ve been working on my holiday gift guide on Pinterest just for you.  Hope it helps!  xx- Sarah  {more after the jump!}

HOLIDAY SHOPPING HAS COMMENCED!

tmp464202351985557505

I always try to resist, but my holiday shopping tends to escalate into a “One for you, One for me” situation quicker than I can say SANTA!  So when Levi’s asked me to share some of my holiday picks, well, I ended up with a couple for myself.   In the spirit of this “One for you, One for me” holiday shopping technique, I’ve rounded up some things I think would be great as gifts- for you, for me, for everyone in between!  Click through on the image to shop any of the items above, and click through to see how I styled the jeans and blouse after the jump. Happy holiday shopping!  xx- Sarah  ** This post was brought to you by Levi’s and as always, I’m grateful for your support of the sponsors that help keep A House in the Hills going!
