Have you started planning your Thanksgiving menus yet my friends?! Because it’s pretty much all I can think about! And this fig infused vodka cocktail is on my list. That’s right, I’ve got instruction below for how to infuse vodka with figs- because OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING WITH OUR LIVES IF NOT DRINKING FIG INFUSED VODKA?! Seriously. WHAT?! I hope you love this one as much as I do! xx- Sarah {this post was produced in collaboration with Sarah Dickenson}
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 6 rosemary sprigs
- 4.5 ounces fig vodka
- soda water
Instructions
- Heat 4 rosemary sprigs, sugar and water over medium heat until sugar has dissolved, stir over medium-low heat for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- In a cocktail shaker combine ice, 4.5 ounces fig infused vodka and 3 ounces of rosemary simple syrup.
- Shake for 20 seconds or until shaker is icy cold.
- Strain contents of shaker into two martini glasses and top with a splash of soda water.
- Garnish with a rosemary sprig.
Notes
FOR FIG INFUSED VODKA:
- 8 ounces fresh figs, rinsed and cut in half
- 750 mL vodka
- 1 air tight jar
cheesecloth
Directions:
Place figs and vodka in air tight jar. Seal and let sit in refrigerator for a minimum of 5 days to a few weeks. The key is to taste every few days after the 5 day period until the vodka is to your liking! Strain contents of jar through cheese cloth to separate the vodka from the figs/stems/seeds. Discard fruit remnants and place vodka in a clean jar. Enjoy!
I love herbs in my drinks…I don’t know what it is, but it makes me feel so cosmopolitan. It’s all about the little things, right? Thanks for sharing! Xo, Alison

I just picked the last of my figs from my fig tree. Now I know exactly what I’m doing with them! Thanks for sharing the great idea!
I can not wait to try this out. Perfect fall cocktail!
This sounds sooo yummy! I think I’ll try and make this for the Christmas holiday. Nothing like something sweet and herby to enjoy the holiday season. I’m a bit worried about continuously tasting the vodka, though. Will there be anything left in the end?!?

My figs are way over. Any way to use reconstituted dried ones? ‘Cause this drinks sounds very delicious!
Would dried figs work for the vodka infusion? Perhaps cut up, maybe soak for a couple weeks? I have never found fresh figs in my ara. This sounds ahhhhmazing.
Just stumbled across your blog! Beautiful photos! I am so going to try this recipe. I do a vodka, rosemary martini with St. Germain liqueur but this looks like it could be even better and less strong on the alcohol factor. Thanks for sharing this! x
This sounds so delish I am going to buy ingredients tomorrow Thanks!
