Get Fit September and Friday Links

sarah_yates_A_House_in_the_Hills-98576

Happy Friday!  We’re nearing the end of #EatCleanAugust and I am seriously ready for a big bowl of noodles and a nibble of chocolate.  Once that’s out of the way I’m happy to keep eating how I’ve been eating though, which is the brilliant thing that happens when you start eating really clean- you don’t want to stop!  And I’m going to take #EatCleanAugust and up it one with #GetFitSeptember!  I’m promising myself (and you) that I’ll take control of one other area of my health with a commitment to at least 30 minutes of exercise every single day for all of September.  No excuses.  I want to feel even better than I do with all this clean eating and I know that dedicating some time every day to moving is the next step.  HERE WE GO!  I mean, so far it’s just me but I’m hoping maybe you’ll join me?!   C’mon, please?!  xx- Sarah {links for your weekend after the jump}

The best DIY I’ve seen in quite awhile!

I absolutely adore brussel sprouts, so naturally I’m super excited by this!

I’m thinking about adding these to the closet for some old school inspiration!

On my weekly covet list:  this, this, this, this, and this.  Ok, also this.

I know I probably shouldn’t, but I loved reading this!

This kohlrabi and avocado salad is so intriguing!

Vegetable soup that will be sooo tasty when Fall is upon us!

Bean and Nugget would absolutely love these peanut butter pup-sicles!!

I would absolutely love to snuggle up here with a book.  During a thunderstorm.

An heirloom tomato carpaccio that looks absolutely beautiful!

Avocado summer rolls that are simple, fresh and delicious!

If you haven’t explored the amazingness that is pickling your own veggies, I highly suggest starting here!

Peaches and roasted chickpeas! Yes, please!

I’m obsessing over this dress.

Mentally I am here this weekend, I’ll be back Monday!

Love this idea. I’m 5 months post-partum and while I’m not unhappy with my body, I definitely feel the need to give up the excuses and start exercising properly again. Just need to devise a plan that I can do it home while baby is napping…

    Hey Sarah

I’m on your blog almost daily since I red your story about Crohn’s Disease. You inspire me most with your recipes as they are vegan and I became a more or less vegan myself some time ago. Sadly I somehow didn’t manage to eat clean only during august.
But I pledged to take more care to my body some days ago and made a fitness motivation board that now hangs in my closet :-) so your get-fit-september-moto comes in with a more than perfect timing;-) I’m in!
With the intention to take my new goals serious (it isn’t always that easy to make time for these things in daily life) I even made a weekly planner template with extra divided space called “MY time” for more spiritual things, “MY Workout” for fitness and “MY meals” to have some sort of meal-planner. I hope this works ;-)
Somehow I think I’m not the only one who struggles with making time for such things..so I pinned a Snapshot of my weekly planner on Pinterest (http://www.pinterest.com/lovedreamact/bodysoul/). If anybody feels inspired, I’d be very happy! Please feel free to adopt and customize it..:-) (If I had the possibility I’d even give you a copy of mine!)
Thank you for giving such great motivation to your reader, Sarah! I’m curioius what sepember brings us with you!
Best wishes from far far Switzerland

I’m in! Or at least, in my way. I was looking forward to the re-opening of the gym where I go after a summer break and I want to take 2 new classes (plus the 3 I already used to take). So I won’t do 30 minutes of exercise a day (though I’d love to practise a bit of yoga daily-or at least the days I’m not going to the gym- but I’m not skilled enough for that, and I’m not motivated enough to go on a 30 minutes run every morning) but rather around 5 hours of exercise weekly, and maybe more if I’m willing to go to more Zumba classes!
