dear pleather leggings,
do you see my face in this picture? i look confused. kind of happy, but kind of not. and it’s totally your fault. i’ve seen you on the likes of kate moss (ok, she was wearing your wealthier, better looking cousin) and you looked so fine. so i tried to channel her and picked up a pair of you. but instead of looking all slinky and rocker and cool and kate-moss-ish, i look like a weirdo who got dressed in the dark (and ate kate moss). i have only you to blame. because obviously this wasn’t a weird fashion identity crisis on my part. it was you, luring me into rockerville with your rubbery promises of sexy goodness. but like a bad boyfriend who feels oh so right, i know you’re not. you’re going back where you came from! and i hope some skinny minny rocker girl scoops you up right away, and i hope you don’t bunch at her knees and crotch in quite the same awkward way. because i believe in you pleather, i have seen how great you can be.
love, sarah yates
*these leggings can be found here. boots: jeffery campbell via shopbop (love these so much!), shirt: chaser via shopbop (also love this soft shirt)
If I could rock those pleather leggings like you do…I'd wear 'em! Forget Kate Moss, she's got nothing on you, Sarah, except maybe a few million dollars…but who needs that!? I think you look awesome in them and I'd totally keep them! Screw the crotch! HA! (no pun intended!) Slap on some heels and a shiny shirt and wear 'em for New Years!!!
I agree! You look great in them and who thinks skinny-ass Kate Moss is sexy anyways?! I did an outfit post in mine yesterday with a longer tank (granted, they were the more expensive cousin) and it covers any crotch bunching that may or may not occur They're super comfortable and I wear them at least once a week!
I vote to keep them!
Haha! This is great! I agree with you they don't seem like they're your style.
Nice post. thanks for sharing. super saleI love such fashion related posts. super sale
thanks everyone! so sweet of you to say they look good….but really, i promise you, i am exceptionally awkward in them and they absolutely have to go back! and betsy, you look amazing in your leather pants. i can get behind those.
Great post! I feel your pain. The pain in venturing into a new trend slightly uncomfortable is (sadly, sometimes) what fashion is all about. If I feel the least bit uncomfortable in something, I just put higher shoes on and it almost always makes me feel better.
I know I am way slow on the uptake and reading this a couple of years late (I just discovered your blog and am LOVING it) but this is hilarious!
Thanks for a great post x
