free people new romantics dress

i’m totally obsessed with this dress/tunic. i saw it online and didn’t really pay much attention to it,  but then wandering through bloomindales in SF it practically sang to me from the racks. it can be dressed up or down, and either way i feel like i’m getting away with wearing something as comfy as pajamas in public. i’m a big fan of that.  dress: free people via shopbop, knit leggings: club monaco, boots: jeffrey campbell via shopbop

mini christmas trees!

the holidays can be stressful, and i swear people become 40% less kind whilst driving this time of year. but you know what makes it all better for me? a solid 9 hours of back breaking crafting. if you ever receive an email invite from me entitled “craft city usa, my place” and an invite to “craft until your fingers bleed” you best believe i’m not joking around. and poor unsuspecting annie got roped into making 20 mini christmas trees with me the other day. (totally inspired by emily’s holiday decorating show!) but they’re so worth the hot glue gun burns and aching fingers, they transformed our bookcase into a magical christmas forest! if you’re doing crafty things this holiday season i want to see!

pleather skirt, i’m into you

remember my bad experience with pleather leggings? i’m getting over it with some rebound pleather. this skirt is making my bad feelings go right away! and this blouse from rory beca? my new favorite. i feel like a million hot pink bucks in it! skirt: h&m, shirt: rory becca, bag: marc jacobs, shoes: badgley mischka, belt: club monaco watch: nixon, necklace: shareen vintage, bracelets: gorjana, ettika, ettika, stella and dot, tights: kate spade

our stockings are hung!

each year we add a little bit to our christmas decor collection, and this year our big splurge was these stockings from west elm and these cute little stocking holders from pottery barn. {if we ever have a baby it will have to be named eleanor or ruca, so as to not waste these amazing stockings. i’ve made peace with it.}  i can’t wait to fill them with tiny gifts to open on christmas morning! i’m giddy just thinking of it!!! and today, after editing these photos i went  back and steamed the wrinkles out of them. i’m pretty certain lou thinks i’m a nutbag! *i’m sorry, but both items have sold out of the online stores already. i know, such a tease! but i bet you could get crafty and make these stockings yourself {plus save a pretty penny doing so}. and the beautiful print above the fireplace is by sanna annukka, who i ADORE! merry merry everyone!

holiday party outfit: faux fur and shimmer!

i think that in my past life i was a 70’s disco glamazon. which is confusing since i can’t dance to save my life. BUT, i’m completely comfortable in things that sparkle, pants that flare and faux fur anything. this cropped jacket is fast becoming a fave, and i can mix it up from 70’s disco glamazon to 80’s edgy rocker without batting an eyelash. the dress isn’t online, so head to your local uo to try it on if you like! (and i don’t know what i photographs all iridescent like that, it’s very much just gold and mauve in real life). dress: ecote via urban outfitters (store only), jacket: inc via macy’s, belt: vintage, bag: heather heron, shoes: cooperative via urban outfitters, ring: dara ettinger, bracelets: jcrew, stella and dot, ettika. photos by my lou
