dolce vita rezzie booties

friends, meet my new loves the dolce vita rezzie booties.  little studded booties full of ass kicking awesomeness! SASS IN SHOE FORM!  boots that are made for walking…and then dancing… and then loving…and if absolutely necessary a little karate kicking. that’s how i think of them anyway. PLUS, they’re holding me over until i finally save up and buy my shoe soul mates, the ones i’ve been coveting for TWO LONG YEARS!  that’s totally absolutely really normal, right?  yes.  it must be.  more after the jump!

lovely lady feature on emmadime

happy monday everyone!  in case you were in the throes of operation dog rescue with me this past weekend, i have good news… we found the pups a most wonderful home where they’ll get to be together and live out the rest of their days filled with love!  i couldn’t possibly be more thrilled!  i love a good happy ending.

in other news…last week i was featured on emma’s darling blog as a lovely lady!  the photo above is an outtake. head over here to see the full outfit and then spend some time checking out emma’s site, you’ll guaranteed love it!  xx-sarah

style for miles

hiya friends!  i hope you’re all having a great week!  i’m sick in bed today with the flu.  yuck!  especially a bummer as this weekend i was planning on having the first truly athletic moment of my life & running a 5k with my sweet friend farra.  but the universe has other plans for me and my athletic debut will have to wait (but let’s be honest- it’s been a long wait, a few more weeks won’t hurt anything but my pride).

so, i have a favor to ask… i’m up for “best healthy cooking blog” on apartment therapy’s The Homies (YAY!) and would be so thrilled if you would take a minute to vote for me here.  it does require signing up for an account if you don’t have one- but it’s not the kind of sign up where you’ll get bombarded with emails (at least in my experience- i’ve never received even one!).  i don’t expect to win but it would mean a lot to me to have your support!  i work really hard to come up with inspiring healthy recipes with pretty pictures for you and this feels like a sweet acknowdgement of my efforts, which is always great, you know?  so if you have the time and inclination, head on over and find me on the list!  thank you in advance and i promise to keep the healthy goodness coming!  xx- sarah

ps- how great is the styling in this photo?  want that lipcolor and blonde, blonde hair!  photo via

i’m having a stevie nicks moment

i might have gasped when i saw this dress- long and flowy snake print with a wrap around shape and slits in the skirt?  oh heck yes!  i mean, what’s not to love?  nothing, that’s what.  this dress is sheer perfection! {har har} i’ll be wearing it from now until forever, channeling stevie knicks every time i do.   more photos by my handsome husband and outfit details after the jump!

back to my roots

my parents were hippies (the legit kind from the 70’s) so i grew up with a lot of bohemian influence.  my mother made beaded jewelry that she sold at craft fairs, my father had a ponytail for as long as i can remember and i think i popped out of my mother’s womb singing neil young’s “heart of gold“.  all of this means that if i spot anything turquoise or with even a hint of 70’s style i have to get my hands on it, immediately.  and it also means that sometimes i wear three too many accessories.  occasionally even more than that.  it really can’t be helped.  but at least i weaned myself off the classic rock…for the most part… kind of.  OK I DIDN’T!   get off my back!

more after the jump!
