our stockings are hung!

each year we add a little bit to our christmas decor collection, and this year our big splurge was these stockings from west elm and these cute little stocking holders from pottery barn. {if we ever have a baby it will have to be named eleanor or ruca, so as to not waste these amazing stockings. i've made peace with it.}  i can't wait to fill them with tiny gifts to open on christmas morning! i'm giddy just thinking of it!!! and today, after editing these photos i went  back and steamed the wrinkles out of them. i'm pretty certain lou thinks i'm a nutbag! *i'm sorry, but both items have sold out of the online stores already. i know, such a tease! but i bet you could get crafty and make these stockings yourself {plus save a pretty penny doing so}. and the beautiful print above the fireplace is by sanna annukka, who i ADORE! merry merry everyone!

happy black friday!

i hope you all had a wonderful holiday! our thanksgiving was sweet and delicious and mellow (and yay, no animals were harmed in the making!). lou has been under the weather so we stayed home and celebrated with just our darling family. and my favorite thanksgiving tradition, feeding the dogs a miniature plate of food they would otherwise never get to eat, was a definite highlight. when our bellies were full i was finally able to convince lou that we've waited long enough, so up went our christmas tree! we have so much to be thankful for and although i think we do a fairly decent job of remembering that on a regular basis, it's so nice to have a day that's dedicated just to that (and amazing food). so now, let the christmas season begin! i slayed the anthropologie sale this morning- 50% off already reduced items (SO worth the drive down there at 7 am). happy shopping my friends, i hope black fantastic friday is as kind to you as it was to me!

here's what we're rocking out to this holiday season

Christmas With the Rat Pack and The Jackson 5 Ultimate Christmas Collection.  We've also got Chris Issac: Christmas on repeat.  LOVE LOVE LOVE.  And today, Scrooge McScroogerson herself downloaded some of Mariah Carey's Christmas music.  And YES, that is a little embarrassing.
