what has four ingredients and is about to change your life?

chili roasted chickpeas, that's what!  these suckers are so good it's defies understanding.  i mean, there are four ingredients and none of them are unhealthy and yet i want to wolf them down like a box of cheez-its on the beach.  (that's a good thing, in case there's a question).  make them, please.  you won't be disappointed.

recipe after the jump!

the what:

4 cups cooked chickpeas

3 1/2 tablespoons olive oil or grape seed oil

5 teaspoons of chili powder

1 1/2 teaspoons of sea salt

*optional chives to garnish, lime for an extra kick!

the how:

preheat oven to 400 degrees

spread chickpeas on a baking sheet and coat in olive oil, chili powder and sea salt (use more of less of the recommended salt/chili powder to your taste preference!)

bake at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until chickpeas are crispy!

serve hot.  eat immediately, with abandon.  enjoy!

What a delicious looking snack! It's freezing here in Maine today and I've been looking for an excuse to turn on our oven - thank you for the inspiration!

Roasted chickpeas are THE BEST! So very excited to try this chili version. I've been living off of chili-roasted pistachios the last few days, so these chickpeas are right up my alley!

I've never tried roasted chickpeas, but they look amazing! Also, I've been known to scarf entire boxes of Cheez-Its so I feel like they'll be a good match for me. ;)

Would you recommend dried chickpeas or can canned ones be used? Looks delicious - chili powder improves almost everything!
