our wedding part I
we held onto these photos for a bit longer than we originally planned but i am so happy to finally be sharing them with you! i wrote about our wedding for green wedding shoes here and 100 layer cake here, so please go there for the skinny on our day, the people involved and the reason we eloped instead of hosting a big shebang! i'm going to follow up with the rest of my favorites later today and then our video to wrap it all up in the afternoon! thanks so much for following along, i have been looking forward to this day for so long! xo *photos by max wanger

I love it that you eloped but got a crazy beautiful dress! It's insanely gorgeous! So great to see that you made the choices that were right for the two of you rather than feeling pressured to do a big conventional wedding. And it's wonderful to see someone laughing and truly happy in their wedding photos too!
Oh, Sarah, this is just so lovely. And the movie by Sharkpig on the Green Wedding Shoes page brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing your love and your special day with everyone, along with your posts throughout the year. They bring little sunbeams of happiness to my day. :)
love everything about all of these posts and the way you two just look so beautifully happy and in love. thank you, so much, for sharing!
I'm pretty sure your wedding photos are the most beautiful and moving that I've ever seen! You looked absolutely stunning Sarah. Just absolute LOVE in every shot. What I wouldn't give to have a record like that! We threw an amazing Palm Springs wedding at a private home- an absolute dream. Our photographer never showed. It was not from lack of planning, discussing, reviewing portfolio and references. He just woke up on a Saturday and thought the wedding was on Sunday. Luckily a friend of ours had his camera and was able to get a few shots which I will treasure always.
You look beautiful. Can I ask a personal question? Totally understand if you don't want to answer, but how did your family feel that you had your photographer and his family there instead of them?
I am wondering because I would really like to elope but am so worried about offending people! Thank you so much for sharing this with us Sarah, I hope you don't take my question the wrong way.
thank you so so much everyone, you have no idea how much this means to me, your sweet words and support are incredible!
@erin, omg that is so my worst nightmare (from both sides!) i have literally had bad dreams about mistaking someone's wedding date and missing the event! ahhhh! and heartbreaking for you to not have the professional photos, although i'm sure the ones you do have are all the more valuable!
@julie- i'm not offended! our families understood that we wanted to elope, and of course we wanted photo/video and needed someone to marry us. we had the rare and amazing opportunity to have all of that but also have people who we love doing our wedding "work". i don't know how to go about not offending people in wedding planning, it seems that every couple deals with juggling family and friend's expectations and feelings. we just decided to focus on what we really wanted, to have our wedding for US. and thankfully, our family managed their own feelings or disappointment about not being included without making us feel terrible about it. best of luck to you!! xx
That video! Your dress! Your beautiful and obviously very sweet husband! All of it, brought me to tears. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the love you two share. I especially love all the little tid bits in the video of you two together clearly enjoying yourselves as a couple.
SARAH! This is the best ever and totally didn't make me cry like a big sappy baby. Love it and so incredibly happy for you both
